My fairy-tale travel (Short story, 2011)

It was this autumn in October. I went with my best friend to Kazan.

We arrived early in the morning. The weather was chilly, but we didn`t take on. At first, we went to the citadel, a tour guide was waiting for us there. The excursion was very interesting, we learned many new things and we saw beautiful buildings. We made a few photos.

We saw the tower Siumbike, and learned a strange story about it. The story told about a beautiful princess called Siumbike. One day Ivan the Terrible saw her and fell in love with her, but Siumbike didn’t like him. She said: «If you build a tower in seven days, I will be yours».

Ivan the Terrible fulfilled her wish. But Siumbike didn`t want to be with him and she jumped from the tower, but she didn`t die. She turned into a beautiful swan and flew. (Yes, it is a very strange story)

Then the excursion finished and we went to a shopping center to buy souvenirs for our friends.

Unfortunately we didn`t have enough time to walk about the city, so we decided to go to the aqua-park.

The aqua-park Riviera is one of the best in Russia. But at the weekends there are so many people, that I only managed to ride only one of 50 slides during two hours!

After the aqua-park we went to a cafe to have dinner. The cafe is called the Old Barn. The cafe was crowded, but we got our order within 5 minutes. It was very tasty. In a good mood we went to the Tatneft Arena after the cafe.

Cirque du Soleil held a performance that evening. We had bought tickets 4 months before the performance. We had been waiting for this day for a long time. Inside the building we saw wardrobes and stands with souvenirs. I really wanted to buy something as a souvenir, but it was very expensive. We saw an extraordinary stage when we entered the auditorium. The stage was like a large flower. Our seats were next to the stage.

Before the performance, the circus actors came and began to entertain the audience. It was very funny and interesting. They came to us and we could see their bright clothing and unusual make-up.

Then the show began. For three hours we couldn`t take our eyes off the stage. It was amazing. I've never seen anything like that. There was a circus actor who did something extraordinary with his body.

Best of all, I remember two gymnasts, they appeared above the stage on a special swing. They swayed, and at some point one of them jumped, and the second had to catch her, it was a fascinating show.

There was a mime, every his appearance was an attempt to involve the audience hall into the play. It was very funny. I've never seen such an artistic and talented comedian.

The whole presentation was accompanied by live music. The musician stood on the stage and played. There was a singer who accompanied the performance with singing.

When it was over, we went to our bus and still had a long discussion about the show.

I think, I`ll never forget this day!
